Two Orders
Through the depths of the last song,
they traced each other’s hands.
At the gates that lead away
from where humankind was formed, they hugged.

forced to market for calm by marriage
of the market leader’s daughter,
they have ridden their bicycles
from the east and the west
to snipe with rubbery stones from vestries
of last meet and handshake.
